Sew Outside Corners on an Overlocker

This technique is courtesy of Sandra Betzina.

  1. Use a 3-thread narrow overlock.
  2. Serge down one side with the fabric edge lined up with the blade so that there is no off cut. Serge right up to the corner then hand wheel one stitch past the edge of the fabric.
  3. With the needle up, raise the presser foot, pull the fabric slightly to the back to release the stitches off the stitch finger, turn the fabric and continue stitching down the other side.
